Project 5a - Neighbourhood Elements : Existing Condition

for this project we're required to draw the Key Plan, the Location Plan and also the Layout Plan.

neighbourhood elements that observed in the Layout Plan such as:

• Movement Network
• Lot Layout
• Public Open Space
• Public Facilities and Amenities
• Landscape and Street Furniture

on the same layout plan we also must show the basic physical  and environmental aspects like sun path, prevailing wind direction, vistas and vegetation.

Project 5b - Neighbourhood Elements : Proposed Improvement

for project 5b, we should propose some suggestions to improve the physical and non-physical conditions of the neighbourhood area.

suggestions that i make for Setia Green, Sg Ara is :

1. to put fencing in the playground for the safety.
2. put convex mirror at sharp bend. 'Objects in mirror are closer than they appear', to warn the driver of the convex mirror's distorting effects on distance perception. Convex mirrors are preferred in vehicles because they give an upright, though diminished, image. Also they provide a wider field of view as they are curved outwards.
3. plant more trees to  reduce noise pollution
4. planning and access for disabled people
5. put recycle bins

Project 4

 A comforTABLE CHAIR

- in this project we're divided into groups. Each group have three members. We are required to produce a structural model of a wooden L-shape seating object that combines a table and chairs.

Project 3 : Application of Design Elements and Principles

 FREE-FORM MODEL (SCULPTURE)

we are required to create an object of a free-from sculpture that can be made from any materials (new or recycled). The theme of the sculpture is 'Harmony' but we're free to choose our specific concept that is relevant to the stipulated theme.

i decided to make the star at the center of the Solar System known as The Sun :)

 

Project 2 : Natural & Man-Made Structure

for project 2, we are required to submit two pieces of sketching. first is natural structure and another one is man-made structure. both sketching must be found around USM Main Campus

for natural structure I've chose to draw the 'COCONUT TREE'.

the Uses of Coconut Tree from the leaves down to roots are its main benefits for many ages on tropical countries and slowly got introduce to other civilization.
